October 9th 1999 Apologies for not announcing the last show more in advance. Dragging this out to play a big "blow out" show really wasn't our style. It stopped being something to be enthusiastic about and things were touch and go up until today. I seriously didn't even know if we were going to play or not.
October 7th 1999 Saetia did something last night which was up until now the stuff of legends; we practiced. Things started rough as one may guess when not only coming off a 2 month hiatus, but don't forget that we do for all intents and purposes have 2 new members. (1 new, 1 on a different instrument.) things somewhat settled into what we like to deem "normal" Egads.
October 4th 1999 Saetia will be performing this saturday, Oct. 9th at ABC No Rio with our new bassist and somewhat new guitarist. If you come, please heckle our bassist b/c this is the first time he will have ever played in front of anyone. Also, my other band, Interpol, just finished recording 4 songs. Three are uploaded. please check them out.
Please don't ask if we're getting back together. You never know. I'm not going to go all high and mighty and say no, but it's extremely unlikely
There's always so much more to write, but I'm pretty reluctant to go into it right now seeing as it's so fresh in my mind.
September 29th 1999 Round three of the 7" has begun. I sent the remixed cd-r (thank you to Pat Kenneally — Excellent job) to Chris. Hopefully it will be ready in about 1 month. I cannot believe that we average just about 1 release a year.
September 25th 1999 It seems that we will be playing at ABC No Rio on Otober 9th with Jerome's Dream. We will probably only play 4 songs. We haven't rehearsed since Aug. 5th. This should be interesting. Oh yes...If anyone is interested, my other band, Interpol, is playing at Brownies on Wed. September 29th @ 9:30pm. Try and make it.
August 17th 1999 The shows in the midwest are cancelled. tomorrow is our last definite show, and the last show with Colin.
August 13th 1999 Colin Bartoldus, one of our guitarists and main van driver, has left the band. August 1st 1999 The 7" is finally remixed, and being sent to us. Pat Kenneally was kind enough to take care of the songs for us. Hopefully it won't take much longer to have the 7" finished. 1 whole year of effort. 1 whole year to write 3 new songs. a bit ridiculous.
July 28th 1999 Several show updates for the next couple of months. We might be playing on Aug 18th in New Jersey with The State Secedes. It will be the last day of their 2 1/2 week tour. We also have a weekend trip into the midwest planned. We are playing Sept. 3rd in Milwuakee, Sept. 4th in Chicago @ The Fireside Bowl, and possibly Sept. 5th in Bloomington, IN. This will the last trip we can make far away from NY for quite a while. We also have a split 10" with Racebannon in the works, and possibly some comp. tracks.
May 7th 1999 We desperately need help with a show on June 1st in the Illinois area. Our show fell through recently, and we need one to replace it. Also, the June 2nd show is really shaky right now. If anyone can please help us for these 2 dates, get in touch with us. Thanks.
May 4th 1999 We have some other show dates for the rest of the summer lined up. We are playing at the Tin Can Full of Dreams Benefit July 9-11th in Mass., July 26th in CT w/ Suicide Nation and Jerome's Dream, August 13-15th Studio 159 Benefit weekend.
MAy 2nd 1999 Well, we are finally going to get our own domain name. Stay tuned. Check out some samples from the Interpol Demo on the Misc. page.
April 29th It seems that we will probably be playing May 24th at ABC No Rio with 400 years and Sleepytime Trio. The 24th is a monday, and the show begins at 6pm. Some tour dates still aren't confirmed. We need help with Oklahoma City or Texas. Anyone with contacts, please get in touch with us.
Also, steps are being taken to try to get our own domain name. No, don't go pointing your browsers to www.saetia.com just yet kiddies, most likely it will fall into a subcategory somewhere in the Level Plane web hegemony if it in fact comes into being. This geocities bullshit is getting straight up unbearable. We'll keep you posted. Seeing as this site will always be up, when and if things change, the title pages will be updated and you, dear enthusiast, will not be led astray.
April 28th I put up new lyrics. Go to the "releases" page to check them out.
I also stole all of the code off of our section on the Mountain page because A) I'm lazy B) It looked better than what I had going on on the "releases" page and C) Tables baffle me for some reason.
April 21st We are finally getting more inserts printed for our 7". The record just might be available again soon. Especially since there is a box of them sitting in Jamie's house waiting to be loved by someone else. He just has too much anime to pay attention to them. Now we just need to get Matt Smith to screen more covers. Maybe if he'd stop talking about what a great bike he has, or how many times he's been hit by a car, more could get done.
April 20th It seems that we will be playing on May 8th in New Jersey. This is You&I's last show. 6 bands in total are playing: You&I, Song of Kerman, Carlisle, Saetia, Stormshadow, and I wanna say the Cable Car Theory. We are still having trouble with shows in Canada. If anyone can help us out, please get in touch with us.
April 16th3000! Wow! 3000 hits! Of course, most of those are probably from me editing this thing, but still...
Yeah, bustin' rap moves to the year 3000 (if you know who I'm referring to, write me and I don't know, you get punk points or something.)
I just got the "props" section up and running although it's off to a wobbly start. There are links there for all you little shits to waste your time visiting.
Hmmmm, August 16th and I still have not gotten my W-2's from one of my former jobs. Fuck them. If you're ever in Chicago do not patronize the Soup Box on N.Broadway. They're assholes and the soup's all made from mix anyway despite their claims that it's "homemade" They lie about what's in it too. I used to eat a "vegetarian" black bean soup there until I found one of the mix packets and found out, much to my dismay, that it contained chicken fat.
April 14th We are playing this Saturday evening (17th) with the illustrious Yaphet Kotto at Sound and Fury Record Store. Sound and Fury is on Orchard and Houston in NYC.
April 13th I just saw the Mountain webpage. It's coming along nicely. Also, Greg and I live in different time zones and we edit different parts of this thing periodicly without consulting each other. This unfortunately results in a blunder or 2 as have occured recently. Whoops. I hope none of you saw the wacky HTML free-for-all that was going on yesterday and earlier today.
Visual improvememts are coming soon.
Welcome back, Greg.
April 8th Alright kiddies, here it is, the picture that I promised you when I first set this entire thing up: Greg in his underwear! He has little bits of toilet paper stuck to his face too because he cut himself shaving earlier that morning. Rock on, Fucker. Click here to see Greg in all of his ill-clad glory.
April 6th I hate dealing with a vehicle in new york city. the van has become a set of weights, and i feel 'em hanging like they do in excruciating CBT. Please direct all inquiries regarding CBT to Matt Smith. A warning to all...never be a band in New York City, and never under any circumstance own a van in the city. Regardless, it seems like we might be playing on the 17th of April with this band, Yaphet Kotto, in new york city. at this record store called Sound and Fury. the store is on orchard street and houston (howeston). maybe murdock will play. come.
April 5th The final song for the forthcoming Saetia 7" on Witching Hour Records is finally written. 3 new Saetia songs that we are going to record in about 3 weeks. That makes 3 new songs in just about a year. Hmmm... Chris, thank you for being patient with us. Some tour dates are still not booked, especially in Canada. Any help is appreciated. We have the tentative schedule posted in the tour section.
April 1st Many of the summer tour dates are confirmed. we are just having some trouble booking canada shows. if anyone can help us with canada info, it would be greatly appreciated. also, if anyone has info about crossing the border into canada, we could really use it. especially since we travel in a cargo van with no windows and no seats in the rear. we don't know if that could cause us problems at the border. also, Saetia LPs are available. they are $7.00ppd please send everything to the po box listed below.
Mar 27th We are planning the dates for a summer tour. We are hoping to travel from May 30th to June 28th. We have the tentative schedule posted in the tour section. Please check it out, and contact us if you can help us with shows in any of these places, or near any of these places. Thanks.
Mar 22nd Well, spring break is over, and we've returned from our little tour of the south and midwest. The shows went well. Of course, it wouldn't be a Saetia tour without leaving cds in at least one city along the way. Applause goes out to Matt Smith for this spring's cd mishap.
Top 13 things heard on tour
1. Fat Steve!
2. That really hurts, I don't like that!

5. Anuerism Steve!
6. First, I'm going to play with your balls...

Mar 12th The new song is up on the site, and available to download. Just look down below in the "Songs" section. Hopefully i will be putting some other songs up soon.
Mar 11th Greg hates me right now. I know it. The new song is loaded on the page. I just have to figure how to link to it. It is an MPG3 format file, and is about 3MB. All or None, I guess.
Mar 9th A day this amazing only comes around about once every 5 years...
I'm in a wierd mood, bear with me here
Sorry about the wierd font happenings on this page. I thought that the impact font would look cool. I was mistaken.
Well, I finally got to NYC a couple of days ago after spending 13 hours on a bus sitting in the middle of the Greyhound bus terminal in Cleveland. Fucking hell. That's all I really want to say about it.
I've been assembling the ABC No Rio Benefit CD's (for more information, go to the releases page) and it's really good (shameless plug) and while I'm whoring Level Plane merchandise, I must mention that the State Secedes Full length fucking blew me away. Too bad the packaging hasn't been printed and so you can't find it just yet. Greg's been freaking out about it and now that I finally got to listen to it I can completely understand why. While on the subject of benefit CDs, I think that Greg should put out a benefit CD for the Saetia van. That thing's gotten 4 tickets in I think as many days (totalling over $200) and then the keys got locked in it and the locksmith took us for another $100. That thing is cursed.
Being back in Nu Yawk really makes me hate Chicago even more. Fuck that place.
Mar 4th The ABC No Rio comp is available for your consumption. Order it from Level Plane They're $6ppd in the US I believe.
Also the Tampa show had to be cancelled. We apologise for flaking like that. Certain details were overlooked and it will be impossible for us to make it.
In 2 days I get to spend 16 hours on a bus (knowing my luck it will be next to a boorish "Hell's Angel" type with gastrointestinal distress and no concept of personal hygene) Uggh. Such is the price that a Saetia groupie (Tour Manager? Air Freshner Purchaser?) must pay.
Feb 18th
Some new show dates added in the tour section, and hopefully
by tomorrow I will have put up an mpeg3 of one of the new saetia songs
we have recorded. The title of the song is "The poet you never were," aka The Gypsy Song, and will be on a new 7" entitled "Delicate Hammers" on
Witching Hour Records. Thanks Chris.
Feb 12th Well, the dates for our March Rock Outing are mostly confirmed, but still some questions remain. Check out the new dates
.
Feb 3rd I put up a picture of the cover of the comp CD on the releases page. That record should be out really soon if nothing goes wrong with the printing/pressing, etc. (not likely, I know)
Jan. 21stThe pictures from the midwest mini-tour are up. Take a gander at them on the pics page. The counter was also at 1175 the last time I checked. Wow. Who are you people checking this thing out?
Jan. 20thWe have show updates, and a Spring Tour in the making.
Jan. 4thSaetia did a small tour through the midwest this winter. While a wonderful experience, it was at the same time physically and emotionally taxing in light of a lot of recent developments. Much thanks goes out to all the people who helped us, You & I, God Awful and Race Bannon on tour. To everyone who helped us out, set up shows, came to see us, fed us, let us crash and basicly put up with 20+ people at a time, thank you. Your generosity is appreciated more than you will ever know.
Our emotions have pretty much run the gamut lately. Saetia, and the rest of us suffered the loss of friend and original bassist Alex Madara. He was a talented, intelligent and compassionate person, not to mention a friend of each member of the band. Alex left the band in the fall of 1997, and to be honest, we all fell out of touch with him over the following months. The lack of communication did not diminish his contributions to Saetia, nor did it undermine the fact that he was an integral part of Saetia's survival and creativity from its inception until he left. Alex passed away on December 14, 1998, due to a severe allergic reaction which put him into a coma for eight days. Alex would have been twenty one years old on January 18. I speak on behalf of Saetia when I say that he is missed and we share in the grief of his family and other friends.
Sept 30If you visit this site frequently you'll know that It's been forever since I touched this thing. Well, lots has been up. I work 2 jobs in addition to going to school and I don't have the energy to update this thing on a daily basis anymore. Shit will be updated and streamlined as soon as I get time. Also, if you are waiting on a 7" I sent a small amount of covers to Greg recently, so you should get them soon. We appreciate your patience.
